The Angry Sun is an enemy that appears in both Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii and Newer Super Mario Bros. DS. It is a sun with an angry face and a variety of fireball-based attacks.

Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii

Throughout Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii, the Angry Sun only appears in Searing Sands and Grey Mountains. It appears alongside its counterpart, the Mad Moon, in the latter.

The Angry Sun is quite self-explanatory. It's a yellow sun with an angry face.

The Angry Sun will stay at the top of the screen, and can attack by swooping down at the players, spitting out one to three fireballs at a time, or moving in a spiral pattern. It can be defeated by throwing a Koopa shell or frozen enemy at it, touching it with a Super Star, or by touching the Checkpoint Flag or Flagpole.

Newer Super Mario Bros. DS

Since desert-themed levels were scarce in Newer Super Mario Bros. DS, the Angry Sun only appeared in Skyglare Dryland, along with the only appearance of the Mad Moon.

Unlike in Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii, this version of the Angry Sun is a 2D sprite instead of a 3D model. This sprite is taken straight out of Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii.

The Angry Sun acts the exact same as the last game. They have the same movesets, so if you want to know how they act, just scroll up.
