Big Goombas are enemies which appear in both Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii and Newer Super Mario Bros. DS. They're a bigger version of the Goomba, and can appear in many different sizes.

Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii

Big Goombas first appear in Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii. They're semi-rare enemies which first appear in Mighty Meadow and last appear in Brown Forest.

Appearance

Like the name suggests, Big Goombas are just larger versions of the regular Goomba. Mushroom-like bodies with brown shoes, big black eyebrows, and fangs on their lower jaw. Though they're not a complete clone visually; they're mouths will open and close and they'll have bigger steps.

Behavior

Big Goombas act just like the normal Goomba, but this time, with a twist. Sure, they'll walk left and right like the Goomba, but now, when you stomp on them, they'll turn into two smaller versions of themselves. Big Goombas can appear in many sizes, and with each bigger size, the bigger the smaller version is.

Newer Super Mario Bros. DS

Big Goombas appear once again in Newer Super Mario Bros. DS. Once again, they're semi-rare enemies which first appear Everbrown Meadow and last appear in Bombkey Banks.

Appearance

Unlike the regular Goomba, Big Goombas in this game are 3D models instead of 2D sprites. These models are taken straight from the Mega Goomba boss.

Behavior

Big Goombas act exactly like how they did in Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii. They'll walk left or right, and when you stomp on them, smaller versions of themselves will be created. Once again, they're able to be different sizes.

Big Goombas can either be defeated by jumping on them and on their clones, being hit by three fireballs, or being hit by a Hammer.
